Portex BLUselect™ uncuffed, non-fenestrated tracheostomy tube kit, 7.5mm.
Replaces 100/811/075 (Blue Line Ultra®) — same tube, same dimensions,
renamed and recoded range.
Kit includes the tracheostomy tube, two plain inner cannulae, obturator,
disconnection wedge, cleaning brush, soft padded neck strap and patient
notes label. ID 7.5mm, OD 11.3mm, length 73.0mm, 105° angle. Thermosensitive
PVC, latex free, not manufactured with DEHP. Sterile, single use.
No cuff, no fenestration, no decannulation cap, no Velcro tube holder.
Currently unavailable — manufacturer supply shortage across the BLUselect
range, expected to recover around October 2026.
Replaces 100/811/075 (Portex Blue Line Ultra® Tracheostomy Tube Kit, Plain,
Uncuffed). Same tube, same dimensions — the range has been renamed and
recoded to BLUselect™.
Supplied as a kit including BLUselect™ Uncuffed Tracheostomy Tube, two plain
inner cannulae, obturator, disconnection wedge, cleaning brush, soft padded
neck strap and self-adhesive patient notes label.
Product Features
- Thermosensitive PVC – provides sufficient rigidity for initial insertion,
and then softens at body temperature to accommodate individual patient
anatomy
- Smooth arc shaped design with tapered tip to assist placement and removal,
with minimal disruption to patient anatomy
- 105° angle for comfort in-situ
- Tube is suitably radio-opaque to enable confirmation of tube position
- Anatomically shaped flexible flange for improved patient comfort and
improved security of the tracheostomy tube
- Size colour coding on tube and flange to identify size quickly and match
the inner cannula correctly (7.5mm = brown)
- Obturator with hollow atraumatic tip for use with or without a guidewire,
and retaining clips to minimise tube tip movement during insertion
- Inner cannula designed to be robust and easy to use. Ring pull design aids
smooth insertion and removal from the tube, minimising patient trauma
- Size of inner cannula indicated to avoid errors in use
- 15mm connector (bezel) located on the tracheostomy tube, not on the inner
cannula
- Latex free and not manufactured with DEHP
- MRI Conditional
- Sterile, single use. Maximum recommended period of use is 29 days
Please note: this kit is uncuffed and non-fenestrated. It does not include a
cuff, a fenestrated inner cannula, a decannulation cap or a Velcro-style
tracheostomy tube holder. If the patient has been using a Velcro tube holder
from a previous kit, keep it if it is still serviceable.
Replacement inner cannulae available separately: 101/850/075 (pack of 2),
101/856/075 (pack of 20), 101/858/075 (pack of 50).
Availability: the manufacturer has confirmed a temporary supply shortage
across the BLUselect tracheostomy range, with recovery expected around
