Point of care tests

Preventive health check-up is important in population health screening. Disease and therapeutic monitoring(theranostics) among the patients is necessary in detecting change in disease status. Point-of-care tests is one of the tools used. Tests are available for monitoring diabetic status (Glucose, HbA1C, urine microalbumin), lipid profile changes (cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol), kidney function (creatinine, urea, potassium, sodium), and liver function (bilirubin, enzyme), to name a few. Test results are usually ready within a few hours after specimen collection.

Pathology testing is helpful in detecting the numerical changes of medical problems among the population. Various health screening packages through laboratory networking are available by our medical specialist (chemical pathologist). The clinical information is then integrated with clinical pathological data generated by blood tests done to produce an interpretative report.
